The Binky Bro Blog
Neon Summer Safety
Neon is the color of summer. From pool days and beach trips to backyard sprinklers and lake weekends, bright colors have become a staple of kids’ swimwear for a reason. They’re fun, bold, playful, and full of energy — basically everything summer should feel like.
But neon swimwear goes beyond style.
Those bright, eye-catching colors can actually play a role in child safety both in and out of the water. Water safety experts have continued to stress the importance of high-visibility swimwear because certain colors are much easier to spot underwater than others. In pools, lakes, and oceans, bright neon shades help children remain more visible at a glance, which can make a major difference during busy summer swim days.
So naturally… we had to bring the BinkyBro neon energy this summer.
Lost In Indo
There are surf trips… and then there’s Indo.
This spring, the BinkyBro crew packed light, boarded a lot of planes, and headed across the world to one of the most remote surf destinations on the planet — the Mentawai Islands of Indonesia. What started as a surf trip quickly turned into something bigger: a family adventure filled with fishing, island hopping, scooters, surf breaks, late-night card games, and memories the kids will probably talk about forever.
And yes… the water actually looked fake.
68 Hours Later… Getting to the Mentawais is no joke. The trip clocked in at roughly 68 hours total: Utah → Seattle → Japan → Jakarta → Padang → Boat 1 → Boat 2 → Macaronis Resort. Worth it? Absolutely.
Red, White & Ready 🇺🇸
Cue the fireworks — our newest patriotic collection is officially live, and this lineup is bringing all the surf, snow, skate energy to summer.
From bold graphics and vintage-inspired artwork to USA snapbacks and fresh new swimwear, this drop was made for beach days, lake trips, backyard BBQs, fireworks, skate sessions, and every adventure in between.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect red, white, and blue fits for your little rippers… this is it.
The Surf USA tee comes in navy blue with a large USA logo front and center, featuring our signature Surf Snow Skate tagline underneath. The back stays clean for that effortless everyday look that pairs with literally everything.
Raising Little Rippers
Raising Little Rippers: How to Get Your Kids Into Skate/Snow Culture
There’s something different about kids who grow up around skate and snow. It’s not just the boards or the mountains—it’s the mindset. They learn how to fall, get back up, try again, and not take life too seriously along the way.
If you’re trying to raise little rippers, here’s the truth:
it’s less about teaching and more about exposing them to the lifestyle.
Start With Fun, Not Pressure. The fastest way to kill it? Turning it into a lesson. You don’t need to coach your kid into being the next pro. You just need to make it fun enough that they want to keep coming back.
BNKY on the Podium
From Backyard Sessions to National Podiums: The Fisler Family at USASA Nationals
We built BinkyBro as a brand that fits our lifestyle. We actually surf, we actually skate, and we actually spend an unhealthy amount of time in the snow.
And now?
Our gear is officially National Champion approved.
Huge congrats to our team riders and family—Jordy James, Bodee Parks, and Blakely Rose—for stacking multiple podiums and bringing home a National Champion title at this year’s USASA Nationals.
Surf to Street
There’s nothing we love more than a solid pair of swimmies that can keep up with whatever the day throws your way. Whether you’re heading out for a surf session, cruising the neighborhood, or ending up at the skate park, the right fit makes all the difference. We pulled together four of our most popular swim styles and showed you exactly how we’d style them—BinkyBro style. Easy, effortless, and built for real life.
Each look here is built around a different vibe, so whether you’re keeping it clean, going bold, or somewhere in between, there’s something that fits your style. We paid attention to the little details—how colors tie together, how graphics play off each other, and how a simple switch like a hat or tee can completely change the feel of a fit. Think of this as your go-to guide for mixing, matching, and making each piece your own.
From Swell to Style
Back when Binkybro first launched in 2015, founders Matt and Rachel started naming products after places that actually meant something—real surf spots Matt had spent time in, chased swell at, and built stories around. As the brand has grown over the past 11 years (and let’s be real… a lot of hats later), that naming tradition has stuck—but evolved. With the addition of our snow line, you’ll now see a mix of product names inspired by local Utah ski runs alongside those iconic surf locations. But today, we’re taking it back to our roots—surf. We’re rounding up 10 of our favorite hat names inspired by legendary surf spots from around the world (even though we could easily keep this list going forever).
Let’s kick things off with some all-time classics from Southern California. 🌊
Spring Stripes
Spring Drops Are Here: Stripes, Surf, and Serious Style
Spring at Binkybro is officially underway, and our newest drops are already turning heads. We’re currently four drops deep out of eight, and if the response so far is any indication, this season is going to be a big one.
Our Striped Swimmie Collection, which launched March 4th, is already flying off the shelves. These suits feel like they belong on a dreamy coastal getaway — picture your little ones running along the sand on the Amalfi Coast, playing under oversized color-block beach umbrellas while you lounge back in a chair sipping an ice-cold Aperol Spritz. That’s the energy this collection brings.
SoCal Surf Grub
Southern California isn’t just about gnarly waves and endless sun—it’s a playground for your taste buds too. From chill taco spots to fresh poke bowls and smoothie bars that’ll fuel your next sesh, the SoCal surf scene serves up eats as epic as the lineup. Whether you’re wrapping up a morning paddle or cruising the coast, these 10 spots are must-hits for any stoked surfer chasing good vibes and even better grub.
Each stop on this list has been scouted by local wave-riders who know that a solid meal after surfing is just as important as catching the perfect set. We’ve got everything from quick bites for a mid-morning session to hearty meals that hit the spot after a long day in the water. So grab your board, rally the crew, and get ready to chow down like a true SoCal surfer.
Adventure on a Budget
Spring break is calling, and if your family’s ideal getaway includes sunshine, salty air, and kids running wild outside — you’re in the right place. At BinkyBro, spring break isn’t about overpacked schedules or fancy resorts. It’s about surf checks, beach days, and gear that can actually keep up with your kids.
With our spring drops rolling out (including new swimmies and fresh snapbacks dropping February 26 👀), we rounded up ten family-friendly spring break destinations that bring the ultimate surf, sun, and adventure energy — all while staying budget-conscious and totally on brand.
Because the best spring break trips aren’t about doing the most.
They’re about being outside the most.
Spring is here!
Spring 2026 Is Here — And We’re Just Getting Started
Spring 2026 has officially entered the chat, and we’re kicking things off in a big way. Yesterday marked Drop 1 of our Spring Collection, and trust us — this season is going to be one for the books.
Our first spring drop is all about bold color, effortless function, and styles the whole family can get behind.
Neon Swim Is In
We launched a full lineup of neon swimmies designed to stand out all summer long. This drop includes:
Skiing with Kids
If you’ve ever messaged us asking “How did you get your kids skiing so young?” or “What do I actually need to get my kid on the mountain?” — you’re not alone. We get these questions all the time, and honestly, we love them.
At BinkyBro, skiing and snowboarding aren’t just hobbies — they’re a lifestyle. Our founders, Matt and Rachel Fisler, started all four of their kids on skis at just two years old. Their motto?
“If you can walk, you can ski.”
And they meant it.
By age three, their kids were confidently skiing blue runs. By four, Bodee and Jude were already charging black diamonds. By five, they were on downhill ski teams, later progressing into park skiing, freestyle development programs at Woodward, and eventually moving on to Revolution Ski Team in Park City.
