From legendary surf breaks to the hats that carry their names, we're taking you on a worldwide ride of stoke, style and seriously good vibes.
Back when Binkybro first launched in 2015, founders Matt and Rachel started naming products after places that actually meant something—real surf spots Matt had spent time in, chased swell at, and built stories around. As the brand has grown over the past 11 years (and let’s be real… a lot of hats later), that naming tradition has stuck—but evolved. With the addition of our snow line, you’ll now see a mix of product names inspired by local Utah ski runs alongside those iconic surf locations. But today, we’re taking it back to our roots—surf. We’re rounding up 10 of our favorite hat names inspired by legendary surf spots from around the world (even though we could easily keep this list going forever).
Let’s kick things off with some all-time classics from Southern California. 🌊
San Clemente

The San Clemente 2.0 is our way of giving a proper nod to one of our OG legends. Built off the original San Clemente design that’s been with us since day one, this version got a little glow-up—think Grandpa rope detail, a few thoughtful tweaks, and a well-earned “2.0” stamped on it. Same soul, just leveled up. And yeah… it’s just as good as the surf spot it’s named after.
This hat features a clean “San Clemente” embossed logo on the front with all-cotton paneling for that classic, easy-wear feel. It’s a mid-fit, semi-structured design—meaning there’s a subtle internal webbing that gives the front panel shape without going full stiff. The fit sits slightly more shallow than our standard hats and leans into that timeless, traditional look across all sizes.
Available in 4–12M and 1–3 YRS on our website.
San Clemente is the definition of SoCal surf culture done right. Long stretches of coastline, mellow beach towns, and waves that somehow work for everyone—from groms just getting their feet wet to seasoned locals carving clean lines at Trestles. It’s got that effortless, sun-faded, “surf all morning, tacos after” kind of energy. The kind of place where time slows down and the only thing that matters is the next set rolling in.
Redondo

Throwing another OG classic your way—Redondo. This one has been holding it down since the early days, and just like San Clemente, it’s stuck around for a reason. At BinkyBro, we’re always switching things up—new drops, new styles, keeping it fresh (we rotate products faster than your kid outgrows their favorite tee). So when a hat stays in the lineup this long, you already know… it’s a crowd favorite.
The Redondo keeps it clean and classic with a black brim, white front panels, and a black mesh back, finished with a black embroidered BinkyBro patch up front. It’s the kind of hat you grab for those hot summer days when you still want to look dialed without trying too hard. This hat is available on our website in 4-12M and Adult.
Redondo Beach brings that classic South Bay vibe—salty air, endless summer energy, and a lineup that’s always buzzing. The waves here can surprise you, especially when the swell lines up just right, and the pier in the background makes every session feel a little more iconic. It’s the kind of spot where you toss on your favorite hat, cruise the strand, and end the day with sandy feet and a sunburn you definitely earned.
Kandui

Hopping over to Indonesia for this next one—Kandui. Another OG in the lineup and, honestly, it might just take the crown as our all-time best seller. This is one of those hats we’d be shocked to ever see leave. It’s that good—and it lines up perfectly with the wave it’s named after.
The Kandui hat keeps things dialed with cream paneling, a matching cream bill, and a clean cream-and-black embroidered “Binkybro” patch on the front. It’s simple, timeless, and built to go with just about anything.
Available on our website in sizes 4–12M, 1–3YR, 3–6YR, and 7–12YRS.
Kandui is the stuff surf dreams are made of. Perfect barrels, warm water, and that unreal jungle backdrop that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. Located in the Mentawais, this wave is fast, powerful, and ridiculously clean—basically Mother Nature showing off. If there was ever a wave that matched “legend status,” this is it.

Pitstops

Pitstops is one of those hats that just hits. Done in a burnt orange corduroy, this snapback brings that perfect mix of vintage feel and everyday wearability. It features our “Binkybro Surf Co” logo front and center—clean, simple, and built to stand out without trying too hard.
It’s available on our website in sizes 4–12M and 1–3YR, and it’s one of those easy go-to pieces you’ll keep reaching for again and again.
Pitstops sits just down the line from Kandui and brings a slightly more forgiving—but still insanely fun—ride. Think long, peeling lefts that let you settle in, find your rhythm, and just go. It’s one of those waves that keeps delivering section after section, making you feel like you could surf forever (or at least until your arms give out).
Uluwatu

Coming in hot—Uluwatu. This one keeps things clean, classic, and just a little elevated. Featuring a black “Binkybro – Surf Snow Skate” logo up front, the entire hat is done in a deep charcoal tone, including the snapback, giving it that sleek, goes-with-everything kind of feel.
The Uluwatu is built in a more traditional five-panel design, with a single horizontal front panel and four panels shaping the top and sides. The fit sits a bit more shallow compared to our standard hats, and the bill has that classic straight-edge look that keeps it timeless.
Available now on our website in sizes 4–12M and 1–3YR.
Uluwatu is pure surf royalty. Set beneath towering cliffs in Bali, this wave is fast, powerful, and absolutely unforgettable. You paddle out through caves, time the sets just right, and then you’re locked into long, carving walls that feel like they go on forever. It’s equal parts beautiful and humbling—one of those places that earns your respect real quick.
Thurso

Next stop—Thurso. One of the newer additions to the lineup, and it’s already making waves. This hat comes in a bold cobalt blue across all panels, paired with a matching blue bill and a clean embroidered BNKY logo up front. Finished with a white Grandpa rope detail, it’s the kind of piece that brings just the right amount of pop without overdoing it.
Made from 100% cotton, it’s comfortable, easy to wear, and built for everyday adventure. If you’re into color, this one’s for you.
Available in all sizes, from Infant through Adult.
Thurso East is cold water surfing at its finest—and toughest. Up in Scotland, this wave is heavy, technical, and wildly beautiful, with rugged cliffs and icy blue water setting the scene. It’s not your average sunny session, but that’s what makes it special. When it’s firing, it’s world-class—and the kind of place that reminds you surfing isn’t just a hobby, it’s a commitment.
Durban

Durban x 2—because when something hits this good, one colorway just isn’t enough. We brought in both the Durban SB and the Durban SB Black, and they’ve been strong additions to the lineup since dropping in 2025.
Both styles feature our standard fit, making them easy, everyday go-tos. The Durban SB Black keeps it bold with all-black cotton panels paired with a camo bill, finished with “Binkybro” embroidered across the front and an additional logo hit on the side. Clean, sharp, and ready for anything.
The Durban SB flips the look with cream panels and a warmer-toned camo bill, keeping the same black “Binkybro” embroidery up front and side logo detail. Same structure, same feel—just a different vibe depending on how you want to wear it.
Both styles are available in all sizes, with the Durban SB Black currently unavailable in Junior 7–12YR.
Durban delivers warm water, consistent swell, and a coastline that just keeps producing. Known for its long right-handers and punchy beach breaks, this spot is as fun as it is reliable. Add in that vibrant South African energy, and you’ve got a place where every session feels alive—fast, fun, and full of stoke.
Coxos

Coxos (yeah… we’ll let you take a swing at that one 😄). This snapback brings all the vintage feels with rich brown corduroy paneling and our “Binkybro Board Co Sunset Arch” embroidered patch front and center. It’s got that worn-in, surf-trip favorite kind of vibe—like something you’ve had forever in the best way.
Made with a 95% cotton, 5% spandex blend, it’s soft with just the right amount of stretch to keep things comfortable for all-day wear.
Available on our website in sizes 4–12M, 1–3YR, and 3–6YRs.
Coxos is one of Europe’s best-kept (but not really secret) gems. Located in Portugal, this right-hand point break is all about power and precision. When it’s on, it’s long, fast, and demands your full attention—but rewards you with one of the cleanest rides around. It’s raw, it’s beautiful, and it’s seriously unforgettable.
Rosada

Let’s pop over to Rosada! This snapback is all about those sun-soaked vibes—light blue panels paired with a textured, embossed BNKY SURF logo featuring sun, sand, and salt along the bottom. It’s 100% cotton, soft, and totally perfect for your Littles (though we won’t blame you if you snag one for yourself).
Rosada just radiates good times, beach days, and endless summer energy—basically everything you want in a surf-inspired hat. Available in sizes 4–12M, 1–3YR, 7–12YR, and Adult.
Playa Rosada is everything you picture when you think tropical surf escape. Warm water, offshore winds, and playful, glassy waves that seem to roll in all day long. Nicaragua in general is a surf paradise, and this spot brings those laid-back, sun-soaked vibes that make you want to stay just one more day… every single time.
G-Land

Last but definitely not least… G-Land. This one’s got serious vintage vibes with a classic “Binkybro” logo embroidered on the front. The front panels are crisp white fabric, the back panels are white mesh, and the bill comes in a soft light blue-gray—giving off those laid-back, vintage Marlboro Americana feels.
It’s a timeless piece that pairs perfectly with summer adventures (or just dreaming about them). Available in sizes 4–12M and 1–3YR.
Grajagan Bay—aka G-Land—is a full-on legend. Deep in the jungle of East Java, this wave is long, fast, and absolutely relentless in the best way. We’re talking perfectly lined-up barrels that just keep going and going. It’s remote, raw, and unforgettable—one of those places that separates the casual surfers from the ones who are all in.
Wrapping Things Up
From the sunny coastlines of California to the wild, wave-rich corners of Indonesia, Portugal, South Africa, and beyond—every BinkyBro hat tells a story. These names aren’t random… they’re rooted in real places, real waves, and real experiences. Whether it’s a mellow cruiser or a heavy, barreling beast, each spot carries its own energy—and that same energy gets stitched right into every piece we make.
And honestly? This is just scratching the surface. The list goes on… and we’re just getting started 🌊
